About Us
Ipswich Property Network offers you networking, knowledge, opportunity, community and personal growth. Your hosts: Angela Bryant and Steve Thomas
Angela Bryant:
Angela began investing in property in 1995 and has built a portfolio of 70 properties valued at more than £10,000,000 to date and is still buying, with a goal that is on track to add ten more properties to the portfolio in 2010.
Angela has written a book, The Complete Guide to Property Investing Success, which is available on Amazon or from Angela's own website at www.propertyinvestingsuccess.co.uk. The book is based on Angela's own experience, as well as her extensive knowledge built up through continuing self-education and connections with other property investors throughout the UK.
Having met Claire Wray, the former host, Angela and Claire soon became friends and Angela began attending the Ipswich Property Network events regularly, about three years ago. Claire supported Angela to run a one-day workshop for the members on one occasion. Claire's generosity of spirit in running the group was inspiring and when she decided to emigrate at the end of 2009 and offered Angela the chance to take over as host, Angela accepted the position gladly.
Steve Thomas:
Steve is a relative newcomer to property investment, after spending 20 years as a journalist in the marine industry. His first property venture was to acquire overseas apartments to create passive cashflow for an ailing pension fund. Steve's attention has now turned to the UK to build up a portfolio of properties that will provide him with cashflow and capital growth that will work alongside other investment opportunities.
History In July 2005, Ed Ling, a Suffolk farmer and property investor, and Claire Wray met at a seminar in Coventry and decided it would be great to have a property networking event on their doorstep each month..
And so the Property Networking Club of Ipswich was born. The first meeting was in a vacant flat, Ed and Claire providing refreshments, and nine people sitting cross-legged on the floor talking property!
By the next month they had more than doubled in number and moved to the Holiday Inn, from where they began to invite speakers. Some were from among their own members, many were investors known to a wider national audience. The network allowed members to keep up-to-date with property investment trends and strategies, and learn new ones.
More than that, members have learned about the mindset of success, about people, property, purpose, patience and persistence. Members have grown individually and as a group. Partnerships have formed, deals have been done, and friendships made.
The group has had some ups & downs, some ins & outs, having been linked with some major outside interests over the years, but such commercial interests did not suit or serve the group well.
As a result, IPN returned to independence in June 2010, when Angela and Steve, guided by members wishes, helped the group return to the fundamental benefits and principles of networking.
