Claire Wray
Claire is a property investor and facilitator. With a lifetime in various self-employed ventures, sales and nursing, Claire was a late starter in property investment, building a personal property portfolio in the last three years, and now working on projects with other investors. She co-founded the Ipswich Property Network in July 2005.
Darren Lawes
Darren is a full time property investor who has been able to give up the day job and build a substantial portfolio of properties as a direct result of attending the IPN and forging business relationships with other members of the property network.
Darren continues to invest in property as well as venturing into business, he recently started www.advantageinvestmentsolutions.co.uk with Claire to provide creative financing solutions for property investors
History
In July 2005, Ed Ling, Suffolk farmer and property investor, and Claire Wray met at a seminar in Coventry, and decided it would be a great idea to have a property networking event on our doorstep each month..
And so the Property Networking Club of Ipswich was born. Our first meeting was in a vacant flat, Ed and Claire providing refreshments, and nine people sitting cross-legged on the floor talking property!
By the next month we’d more than doubled in number, and so we moved to the Holiday Inn, and from then began to invite speakers. Some were from among our own members, many were investors known to a wider national audience. From them we have been able to keep up-to-date with property investment trends and strategies, and learn new ones as presented to us.
More than that, we have learned about the mindset of success, about people, property, purpose, patience, and persistence. We have grown individually and as a group. Partnerships have formed, deals have been done, and friendships made.
Early in 2008, we realised that the Ipswich group was creating its own identity, so we changed our name to Ipswich Property Network. Ed’s commitments have taken him in other directions. Claire invited Darren to join her in 2009.
